Allows staff to view, edit and manage their own exceptions from their own desktop.

An exception is a job that does not contain a valid Charge Code. Exceptions are most often outgoing telephone calls output by your Pabx – this is because entry of an account code via the telephone handset is often impractical.

Exceptions can also be a result of allocating a job to “New Matters” when the appropriate charge code has not yet been set up in your accounting system.

softlog.exceptions provides your staff with safe, efficient desktop access to their own exceptions, allowing them to allocate each exception to the correct Account, Internal Cost Centre or Job Code.

Your staff will be reminded at regular intervals throughout the day if they have unedited exceptions and your department heads and system supervisor will receive daily exception summary reports by email to allow them to check that their staff are dealing with exceptions in a timely manner.

softlog.exceptions is available either as a Web Browser page or as a pop-up application.

Individual Staff Lists
Your staff won't have to search through lengthy exceptions lists. softlog.exceptions will present each staff member with an individually tailored web page (or optional pop-up window) which contains just their own exceptions.

Alternative Editing Rights
You can authorise some staff members to edit other staff member’s exceptions. For example, a Partner could authorise their secretary to edit their exceptions.

Account Allocation
Your staff can use Softlog’s powerful search & scan features to select the correct Account from your full account code lookup list. Only valid Account, Internal Cost Centre or Job codes can be selected.

Supervisory Access
You can manage your staff's diligence by granting your departmental supervisors special access rights. This allows them to use softlog.exceptions to view and monitor the outstanding exceptions on individual or all staff member's lists. Effective management means timely processing of corrected exceptions to your billing system with corresponding improvements in recovery levels.

Automatic Staff E-mail Notification
Softlog will automatically send each staff member an e-mail to remind them that they have exceptions waiting to be edited. The e-mail will contain a link to take them straight to the softlog.exceptions web page. E-mail notifications will only be sent to those staff who have unedited exceptions and the firm can choose to notify staff at frequent intervals throughout the day.

Automatically E-mailed Department Supervisor Report
Softlog will automatically e-mail each "Department Supervisor" a daily report which summarises the status of exceptions for every staff member within their department. This report contains useful management information such as the number of unedited exceptions and the date of the oldest exception, allowing the "Department Supervisor" to monitor the diligence of each staff member within their department.

Automatically E-mailed System Administrator Report
This report is similar to the Department Supervisor report except that it contains the summarised exceptions status for every staff member in the firm. Softlog will automatically e-mail this important daily firm-wide view of the diligence of each staff member to any staff member whom the firm has designated as a Softlog System Administrator.
